Airbnb rental, Garde House, in Santa Barbara, California, is a converted barn that houses a retail shop on the first floor and a guest house on the second level. Everything in the space from the furnishings to the bath fixtures is for sale downstairs. I think this is such a smart, logical way to bridge the space between the tacticle experience a brick and mortar store has to offer to the ease and convenience of online shopping. While I’m not sure I’d want to stay directly above a home emporium in this case, I’d be up for purchasing something in a well designed Airbnb after staying there for a long weekend and trying out that elegant coffee table or using that Nespresso coffee maker. Home away from home stays could be the best organic sales tool out there. I’m envisioning highly rated Airbnb’s being sponsored by certain homegood brands. What do you think?
